I will always be in NCP: Ajit Pawar
Mumbai/IBNS: Rebel Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar, who was yesterday made the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP-led Maharashtra government, on Sunday said he will always be in the party and consider Sharad Pawar as the leader.
"I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and @PawarSpeaks Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar said Ajit Pawar's statement was 'misleading'.
"There is no question of forming an alliance with @BJP4Maharashtra . NCP has unanimously decided to ally with @ShivSena & @INCMaharashtra to form the government. Shri Ajit Pawar’s statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people," he said.

The BJP on Saturday dished out a midnight stunner with the swearing-in of Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar as his Deputy, giving a blow to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's aspirations to rule the state for the next five years after Congress and NCP spoke of their support after dilly-dallying for nearly a month.
The NCP leader, who was among the top newsmakers on Saturday, took to his twitter handle to thank the BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, and others.
In the midst of a series of developments that led to his elevation to Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and removal as the NCP's head of the legislative party, Ajit Pawar changed his twitter bio to "Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party Leader".
