BJP govt has become symbol of failing economy, industrial lockouts: Selja

Rewari/UNI: Haryana Congress president and Rajya Sabha member Kumari Selja on Monday said the BJP government has become a symbol of failing economy and industrial lockouts as the economy of the country is on ventilator and industrial output development is on hold.

Stating this while addressing the party workers, who were protesting against the anti-people policies of the BJP government, here, Selja said, "the youth are on the roads not finding any jobs."

She accused the government of being neglectful of the scams of crores that took place in purchase of paddy.

At the time of the scam the government became a silent observer and even now it is not serious about getting into the depth of the matter.

The Haryana Congress President said the BJP is not able to understand the pain of common man. It is the Congress party that has launched widespread protests not only in the state but also in both the Houses of Parliament too.

Selja said the Congress has taken the cause to roads to make people aware of the fact that BJP is totally indifferent towards interests of the people of Haryana.

The chief said BJP won the parliamentary elections by misguiding the masses. People were moved by the hollow promises of BJP and people voted for them.

Those who fetched 79 out of 90 seats from the state in the Lok Sabha in a matter of a few months got exposed and could get only 40 out of 90 seats in the assembly elections.

She said, “Had the BJP not been supported by the fake surveys, Congress would have formed the government in the state. BJP is trying its best to suppress the people’s voice."

Selja said Gandhi family has laid its life for the country, but BJP government withdrew the SPG security of the Gandhi family.

While BJP is trying its best to manipulate everything in its favour, Congress party is committed not to allow abuse of power by it.

She said at the time of demonetisation, it was the Congress that warned BJP against the step and also informed them that this step would ruin the country.

But, BJP, instead of understanding the point boasted of numerous benefits of demonetisation. Now, the results are visible to all with the economy being totally in disarray.

Unemployment in the state is highest amongst all the states in the country. In Haryana, the level of unemployment is at its highest level in the last 45 years, she added.

The HPCC chief called upon the people to join the ‘Bharat Bachao' rally to be held at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi on Dec 14 in which Congress workers and supporters from all over the country would be participating.

She said people from Haryana would be joining this rally in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, Leader of Opposition in Haryana and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also accused the BJP of being the cause for the major problems of unemployment, financial crisis, corruption and banking scams.

He said BJP has dragged the country to a situation of economic emergency.
