Kolkata/IBNS: The Trinamool Congress took a lead in Karimpur and Kharagpur seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in Kaliaganj constituency as the results of by-elections in the three seats in West Bengal are coming out on Thursday, local media reports said.

In Karimpur, TMC candidate is ahead by 14,922 votes.

In Kharagpur, TMC is ahead by over 5,000 votes.

In Kaliaganj, BJP took a lead of 5013 votes.

The Karimpur and Kharagpur seats fell vacant after TMC's Mahua Moitra and BJP's Dilip Ghosh- the MLAs of the respective seats- had resigned following their election to the Lok Sabha.
