Manoj Kumar becomes new Chief Secretary of Tripura

Agartala/UNI: The incumbent additional chief secretary of Tripura Manoj Kumar has been appointed as new chief secretary of Tripura who will be taken over charge on December 2 next.

He will also hold the charge of General Administration (Confidential and Cabinet, Personnel and training), Finance and Home (excluding Jail and Fire Service)
Departments.

Kumar is a 1990 batch IAS. He is an IIT graduate and well received civil service  officer in the state administration.

He is one of the senior IAS cadres serving in the state and was elevated to the post of additional chief secretary early this year.  

Kumar would succeed Usurupati Venkateswarlu, who is retiring from service on November 30, a government notification said.

In a separate order, S K Rakesh of the same batch of IAS, who joined two weeks ago as additional chief secretary returning from central deputation, was given the
charge of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and Forest and Animal Resources Development.

Another additional chief secretary holding the charge of secretary to Chief Minister, Kumar Alok has been relieved from charges of all other departments
including home.
