Development is not in JMM's DNA: Raghubar
Saraikela/UNI: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday hit out at the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM), saying development is not in its DNA and it contradicted its poll promises with its acts after attaining power.
"JMM is such a party which did not honor the Andolankaris despite the father and the son(JMM patriarch Shibu Soren and his son Hemant Soren) both becoming the Chief Minister...what development work can they do for Jharkhand... in JMM's DNA development is not present," he said addressing an election meeting at Kanubeda of Rajnagar.
"JMM and Congress' slogan of prosperity for Jharkhand is misguiding. It does not relate to the Rs 4,000 crore scam they committed when they were in power in the state," jabbed Mr Das.
He said issue of Icha dam has been used for vote bank politics and assured the people that inhabitants of the area will not be displaced.
He iterated that the present state government first rehabilitates the people before displacing them and people should not heed to false news and be panicked.
Hitting out at the JMM, he said the JMM MLA of the area who has also served as the welfare minister did not show seriousness towards the development of his constituency or the people but ensured his own development.
He said Hemant Soren and his father Shibu Soren did not allow the construction of the bridge over the road connecting Latehar and Gumla, passing through Ghagra village, but it will be constructed at any cost and those who will obstruct the work will be sent behind the bars.
Referring to the industrial development during his tenure, he said many industries in Adityapur and Gamharia were closed before 2014, but all of them were opened after the new industrial policy and direct and indirect employment was provided to one lakh people.
He also promised that a women's college will be opened in Rajnagar.
Mr Das also claimed that his government had a blotless tenure and not a single allegation has been levelled. The Maoists were dealt with iron hands and they are breathing their last in the state, he asserted. He also outlined the various achievements which have been made by the state under his tenure.
