Lucknow/IBNS/UNI:  Hours after the rape survivor breathed her last at a hospital in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed State Minister and Unnao In-charge minister Kamla Rani Varun and Labour Minister Swami Prasad Maurya to meet the family of the deceased rape victim.

The Unnao rape victim had been set on fire by five accused on Thursday while she had left her home early morning to travel to Rai Bareli in connection with the case.

She then ran about 1800 meters to seek help in the burning state.

She was admitted to a local Sumerpur hospital wherein she had named the accused in her statement.

She was later sent to the Trauma Center at Civil Hospital in Lucknow from where she was air-lifted to New Delhi for better treatment.

She breathed her last at around 2330 hrs on Friday night. All five accused have been arrested.

The girl in March had filed the rape case against two men from her paternal village in Unnao. The men had allegedly raped her and filmed the act.

Several key opposition leaders of the country, including BSP chief Mayawati and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, slammed the Yogi-led government over the death of the woman.
