Patna/UNI: Deeply shocked over Delhi's Anaaj Mandi fire incident, in which several Bihari labourers were charred to death, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced relief of Rs 2 lakh each to their kin.

In his condolence message, Mr Kumar expressed his grief over the incident and directed the concerned authorities to pay the relief to the next of kin of those burnt alive. He said Rs 1 lakh would be provided by the Labour Department while the remaining Rs1 lakh will be given from the CM's relief fund to the victims.

He also asked the authorities to make adequate arrangement for the treatment of those who sustained burn injuries in the massive fire which broke at around 0520 hours near Rani Jhansi Road in Delhi.

Blaze, described as one of the major fire incidents, that swept through a four-storey building in congested walled city area of the national capital on Sunday left at least 43 factory workers sleeping inside dead after succumbing to burn injuries and also after inhaling smoke.

The chief minister directed the resident Commissioner of Bihar in Delhi, the joint Labour Commissioner and other senior officers to take stock of the situation and provide the relief measures to the victims.
