People teach lesson at the first opportunity to those who back stab mandate: Modi
Barhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Congress party, saying it has an old habit of snatching away people's mandate from back door and then using its allies as "Kathputlis" (puppets).
Referring to Karnataka where BJP is all set to sweep the bypolls, the Prime Minister told a rally here that the people of Karnataka have taught a lesson to those who had exploited the people and snatched their mandate but their intentions have been foiled.
"The country is thinking about political stability and their faith in the BJP has be revealed," he added. He thanked the people of Karnataka for voting for stability and development. "BJP is winning even on those seats which it hasn't won in the last 70 years. People are angry with those who backstabbed their mandate," he said.In one or two seats even, small-time workers, who had been fielded by BJP, have defeated the big leaders of the Congress and JD-S, Modi iterated.
Continuing his attack on Congress and JD-S alliance, he said, "The results in Karnataka are the victory of Janmat and Loktantra. People of Karnataka had given the mandate to the BJP but the Congress and its allies cheated and backstabbed the people and came into power."
"Despite remaining in power for one year, Congress and JD-S kept fighting with each other as people's welfare was never on their agenda," he said.
"Congress made HD Kumarswamy do this or that for Delhi on gunpoint. He was always under the fear of losing the majority and that is why he cried among the people," Modi said.
"What Congress did with Kumaraswamy is similar to what kidnappers do with the kidnapped," he said referring to the political developments in Karnataka which led to the fall of Congress-JD-S government in the state. Modi said the people have given a befitting reply by pressing the symbol of Lotus and punished the Congress for its ill intentions at the very first opportunity.
"Congress has never followed the coalition dharma and has the habit of using its allies as per its needs and as a Kathputli," he said.
