Scenario in Rajya Sabha completely different: Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut
New Delhi/IBNS: Keeping his cards close to his chest, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday refused to divulge his party's move in Rajya Sabha over the Citizenship (Amendment), Bill, 2019 but stated the scenario in the upper house where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is short of majority is completely different.
Interacting with media, Raut said, "We will see what can be done. The scenario in Rajya Sabha is completely different. We can make our voice hear louder in the upper house."
"Shiv Sena never works under any pressure. We always speak what is in our hearts," the Sena spokesperson added.
Though the Sena had supported the controversial bill in Lok Sabha on Monday midnight, the party has made a U-turn with its chief Uddhav Thackeray saying the government didn't answer to their queries.
Also Uddhav, who is running a coalition government with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress in Maharashtra, said his party can't be taken for granted in Rajya Sabha in a message to his former ally BJP.
The bill will be tabled in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Despite lacking majority on its own, the BJP is likely to sail through in Rajya Sabha as well with the help of regional parties like Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Janata Dal (United) and AIADMK.
