NIA arrests JMB member Mosaraf Hossain in Bengaluru module case

New Delhi/UNI: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) active member Mosaraf Hossain alias Hossain by the NIA Kolkata who was wanted in JBM Bangaluru module case, an official statement said here.

Accused Mosaraf Hossain, a 22-year-old and resident of Raghunathganj in Murshidabad District, West Bengal, will be produced in NIA Special Court, Kolkata on Tuesday for seeking transit warrant to produce him before NIA Special Court, at Bengaluru.

This case pertains to seizure of improvised hand grenades fabricated grenades caps, IED circuits 9mm live rounds, one air gun, suspected explosive powder and other incriminating materials on July 8 from a house in Chikkabanavara, Soladevanahalli under Bengaluru District, Karnataka rented by members of JMB, a proscribed terrorist organisation.

The federal terror probe agency investigation revealed that Mosaraf Hossain alias Hossain came to Bengaluru in the first week of March 2018 with Asif Ikbal alias Nadem to participate in subversive activities in India.

While staying in Bengaluru, he along with other JMB accused persons Jahidul Islam, Kador Kazi, Habibur Rahman, Adil Seikh, Najir Sheikh etc committed two dacoities in March-April, 2018 in Bengaluru to raise funds for JMB to wage war against the Government of India and to carry out subversive activities across India, the probe agency said.
