Anti-CAA protest in Delhi's Seelampur turns violent
New Delhi/IBNS: Police resorted to lathicharge and used tear gas shells as yet another protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act turned violent in Delhi's Seelampur area on Tuesday, media reports said.
The protesters reportedly threw stones at the police and even vandalised vehicles in the area.
According to a senior police officer, the protest began around 12 pm and the people from the area gathered at a prominent crossing, reported NDTV.

Entry & exit gates of Seelampur and Gokulpuri are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations.
A protest against the new citizenship law on Sunday turned violent in the national capital. The protest involved students of Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said the entry and exit gates of Seelampur and Gokulpuri have been closed.

Traffic movement has been closed on 66 feet road from Seelampur to Jafrabad (both carriageways) due to demonstration.
"Trains will not be halting at these stations," the corporation tweeted.
