Anti-CAA demonstration: Protest breaks out in Delhi's Seelampur
New Delhi/UNI/IBNS: Days after a mass agitation was held in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a violent protest broke out in Seelampur area in the national capital on Tuesday.
More than 1,000 people gathered outside the DCP office in North-East Delhi's Seelampur protesting against the CAA, with the police resorting to lathi-charge and tear gas, reported UNI.
The protestors were shouting slogans -- 'Hindu-Muslim Zindabad' and 'Jamia tum sangharsh karo, hum tumhare saath hain'.

Entry & exit gates of Seelampur and Gokulpuri are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations.
The agitators were seen pelting stones at police personnel.
Vandalisation of property has also been reported.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Delhi Traffic Police said, ''Traffic movement has been closed on 66 feet road from Seelampur to Jafrabad (both carriageways) due to demonstration.''
''Traffic is affected from Daryaganj to Delhi Gate due to demonstration. Kindly avoid the stretch,'' it said.
