Anti-CAA stir hits Delhi Metro operations: Entry, exit gates shut at 17 stations
New Delhi/UNI: In wake of fresh protests which erupted against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on Thursday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) closed entry and exit gates of 17 metro stations including Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan.
Entry and exit gates of 16 metro stations-- Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Lok Kalyan Marg, Udyog Bhawan, ITO, Pragati Maidan, Khan Market , Jamia Millia Islamia, Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh, Munirka, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Vishwavidyalaya, Vasant Vihar, Mandi House and Barakhamba are closed.
Trains will not be halting at these stations.
''Entry & exit gates of Vasant Vihar and Mandi House are closed. Interchange facility is available at Mandi House,'' DMRC said in its official tweet.
''Entry & exit gates of Central Secretariat are closed. However, interchange facility is available at this station,'' it said.
''Entry & exit gates of Patel Chowk, Lok Kalyan Marg, Udyog Bhawan, ITO, Pragati Maidan and Khan Market are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations,'' it said.
''Entry & exit gates of Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations,'' it said.
''Entry & exit gates of Jamia Millia Islamia, Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh and Munirka are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations,'' it said.
''Entry & exit gates of Barakhamba are closed. Trains will not be halting at this station,'' it added.
