New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday will address a rally at the Ramlila Maidan in the national capital even as the city is witnessing massive violent protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the rally as Friday was marked by massive agitation in Old Delhi's Daryaganj, which is just over a kilometre from the Ramlila Maidan.

According to reports, the authorities would also monitor social media in order to restrict rumour-mongering.

A multilevel security arrangement has been undertaken with CCTV surveillance of all the routes leading to the venue.

On Friday, several protesters led by Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad had gathered inside the Jama Masjid and then marched towards the Delhi Gate.

What is CAA?

The CAA will grant citizenship to all Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi but not Muslim refugees who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan before 2015.
