Imran Khan tweets fake video 'exposing UP police atrocities on Muslims'
Islamabad/IBNS: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday tweeted a fake video that he claimed to 'expose' "Indian police's pogrom against Muslims in UP".
The video, which was seven-year-old from Bangladesh and not India, was later deleted from his account.
The video was passed off as footage from protests against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in India in recent times.
India Today claimed to have busted the fake claims over the video.
In the video, 'RAB' was written on the uniforms of the policemen, which means Rapid Action Battalion, an anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh Police.
The Uttar Pradesh Police also clarified the truth of the video in a tweet.
"Absolutely false. This is not from Uttar Pardesh. The uniform shown is not what UP Police wears. This is not UP Police. Your fake news is exposed.
#UPPAgainstFakeNews," the UP Police Fact Check tweeted.

Imran Khan soon after realised the video was fake and deleted it. However, the video was already viral by then.
