Himachal Pradesh: Kangra lashed by rains, Dhauladhar experiences snowfall

Kangra/UNI:  Kangra valley was on Monday lashed by rains, while Dhauladhar mountain range, overlooking this lush green valley, along with the lower foot hills experienced  snowfall, lowering the temperature by a few notches.

The sky was overcast since morning and rains started in Kangra town in the afternoon, after which the minimum temperature hovered around 10.4 degree Celsius, while the maximum temperature remained at at 14.1 degrees.

Life in the valley was thrown out of gear due to cold wave condition. Most of the people preferred to remain indoors due to the shivering cold.

Dharamshala recorded maximum temperature 8.6 degree Celsius against 13.6 degree Celsius yesterday and  the minimum temperature was recorded 4.8
degree Celsius in the day and tourists remained in the hotel rooms due to shivering cold. 

The Dhauldhar mountain range experienced snowfall today.

Kangra experienced 19 mm rains in the day and Dharamshala experienced 17 mm rains.  Weather department predicted rain, thunder showers at most of the places in plains and low hills.

People lit bonfire at different places in Kangra town, to combat the shivering cold.
