Assembly polls: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to file nomination paper on Jan 20

New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will file his nomination papers on Jan 20 for the Assembly polls.

Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi seat.

Delhi will vote to elect a new Assembly on Feb 8.

Addressing mediapersons on Friday, city convenor and Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai said,"On January 20, Kejriwal will file his nomination as well as the AAP will organise a roadshow under the leadership of the CM."

'From Januray 23, the AAP will start the campaign of the last phase, as well as will launch a 'Kejriwal ka Guarantee Card' for the work done in five years by the government,' Mr Rai said.

Earlier, Kejriwal inaugurated the election campaign office of Health Minister Satyendar Jain in Shakur Basti.

Deputy Chief Minister and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday filed his nomination papers from Patparganj Assembly constituency.

The process of nomination for the candidates which started after issuance of notification on January 14 will close on January 21. The scrutiny will be held on January 22 while withdrawals of candidature will be allowed till January 24.

A total of 46 sitting MLAs have been given party tickets for the upcoming Assembly polls.
