New York/IBNS: Several Whatsapp users reported on Sunday that they were unable to share multimedia including photos, videos and GIFs.

Users were able to share text messages without any hindrance.

Tracking website  downdetector also showed that users were reporting that they were facing troubles.

Meanwhile, a hashtag  #whatsappdown is currently trending on Twitter.

Several users shared their experience on Twitter.

One Rohit Singh Rajput tweeted: "What’s happening in WhatsApp it’s not working , can’t see status and share media files. If you are facing the same issues ?."

Another Rana Salman said: "Everyone right now #whatsappdown."

Netizen Maina Thomas posted: "People running to twitter to check if they are the only one whose whatsapp is down
#whatsappdown."
