Youth Cong stages Dharnain Himachal, seeks 'National Register of Unemployment'
Shimla/UNI: Seeking 'National Register of Unemployment,' state unit of Youth Congress staged a Dharna before the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Office here on Thursday protesting against the rising unemployment in the country.
State Youth Congress president Manish Mehta led the protest convened on the call of All India Youth Congress unit to protest against all-time high rise in the unemployment under the Modi government during last six years.
The protesters demonstrated against the rising unemployment by selling the tea or snack (Pakora) in a stall bearing the cut out against the Modi Government.
Addressing the protest, Mehta said that they are appealing youth to protest in their houses or villages as every youth and his parents want employments for their livelihood.
He said that instead of coming up with NRC or NPR, the government should start a National Register of unemployment (NRU).
Youth needs to protest for NRU as it would help to know the exact number of unemployed in the country.
AIYC has launched a toll-free number on Thursday urging unemployed youth to give a missed call from their living places including villages, Panchayat, block, district and town to register his or her protest against the alarming unemployment graph under this rule.
He said that toll-free number 8151994411 was launched on national level so that youth could be registered by giving a missed call for one week as the campaign would be run aggressively by the youth congress workers.
The CAA and NRC are emotional issues that are deliberately introduced by the Modi Government to sway the youth.
State Youth Cong office-bearers of the district, block and state level would go among the youth to educate them about this basic issue and they would release the figures of unemployment on the basis of missed call in next 15 days.
The figures would be drawn out of this toll-free number on the district, state and national level to put before the government.
Later, a symbolic protest was organised on the basis of a stall to demonstrate by selling Pakora and Tea on the analogy of prime ministers employment of Pakora Udyog and employment in the town.
