First confirmed case of Coronavirus detected in Kerala

New Delhi/IBNS: The Union Health Ministry has confirmed the first case of Coronavirus, reports said today. 

The first case has been reported from Kerala. The ministry said an Indian national studying at the Wuhan University of China has been tested positive with novel coronavirus.

The student has been quarantined in a hospital and doctors are monitoring him closely. He is in stable condition, the ministry said.

As many as 171 people have died from Coronavirus and the total number of confirmed cases reached 7,711.

Several carriers, including Air India, have temporarily suspended flights to China. While Air India has suspended its Delhi-Shanghai flight from Jan 31 to February 14, IndiGo Airlines has suspended flights on the Bengaluru-Hong Kong route from February 1 and on the Delhi-Chengdu route from February 1 to 20.
