Delhi to vote to elect a new assembly today

New Delhi/IBNS: At the end of fierce election campaigns, Delhi is all set to vote to elect a new Assembly on Saturday.

Polling will begin at 8 am and will end at 6 pm.

Nearly 14.79 million registered voters are expected to cast their votes to elect the new Assembly and decide the fates of 688 candidates.

The vote is crucial as it will test the popularity of both CM Arvind Kejriwal and PM Narendra Modi.

Five years ago, Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party had surprised many when it had won 67 seats in the 70-member assembly.

The BJP struggled to win 3 and Congress could not open an account, heralding a new chapter in the political scenario of the national capital.

This is the first election in the new decade.
