Agra/IBNS: Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka, who is also visiting India along with his father and US First Lady Melania, found the Taj Mahal in Agra "awe-inspiring."

"The grandeur and beauty of the Taj Mahal is awe-inspiring!" Ivanka wrote as she shared on Instagram pictures of herself with husband Jared Kushner in front of the Taj Mahal.

Ivanka explored the 16th-century mausoleum, famous worldwide as the symbol of love, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Ivanka and her husband are part of the US delegation accompanying the US President.

Earlier in the day, the US first family visited Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.

Ivanka also attended the massive event in the world's largest Motera Stadium of the city called 'Namaste Trump.'

Thereby they headed to Agra where Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the Trumps at Kheria Airport in the city.

The road leading to the Taj Mahal from Kheria Airport were decked up for his visit. The local administration had ordered for closure of the monument from 12 noon in the view of the US president's visit.

Massive billboards had been put up and roundabouts decked up with American and Indian flags to welcome the US President.

Giving a photo-op to the world media, the US President and the First Lady walked hand-in-hand to take a leisurely tour of the Taj Mahal.

"The Taj Mahal inspires awe. A timeless testament to the rich and diverse beauty of Indian culture. Thank you India," President Trump wrote in the visitors' book before leaving for Delhi.
