'Goli Maro' slogan raised in Kolkata amid Amit Shah's visit
Kolkata/IBNS: At a time when death toll due to violence in Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests continues to climb, the controversial "Goli Maro" slogan was raised in a BJP rally in the heart of Kolkata on Sunday afternoon, amid Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to the city.
According to reports, few BJP activists, who took out a procession to join Amit Shah's rally at Shaheed Minar, chanted the slogan, "Desh ki gaddaron ko, goli maro sa**n ko."
They allegedly raised the slogan in presence of the police.
Senior Kolkata Police officials said that they were looking into the matter while the footage of the incident has been collected.
Earlier on Feb 29 morning, at least six persons were detained by Delhi Police for chanting "Goli Maro" slogan inside crowded Rajeev Chawk metro station, days after the deadly communal violence in North East Delhi was over.
