Chief of Air Staff visits Eastern Air Command in Shillong
Guwahati/IBNS: Chief of the Air Staff Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria visited the headquarters Eastern Air Command (EAC) in Shillong on Wednesday and Thursday for the annual Commanders' Conference.
The Chief of Air Staff was accompanied by his wife Asha Bhadauria, President AFWWA.
They were received by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, EAC R D Mathur and his wife Shipra Mathur, President AFWWA (Regional).
The Chief of Air Staff congratulated the Eastern Air Command for completion of 60 years of glorious service to the nation.
Shillong based Defence PRO Ratnakar Singh said that, during the conference, the CAS highlighted the operational importance of EAC and emphasised upon the need to concentrate on operational training and operational readiness tailored towards a quick and effective response to a rapidly changing threat scenario.
The CAS awarded trophies to the Commanders for achieving excellence in the fields of Operations, Maintenance and Administration.
Air Force Station Tezpur was awarded the trophy of ‘Best Flying Station - Pride of EAC’ and Air Force Station Laitkor Peak was declared the ‘Best Non-Flying Station’.
Asha Bhadauria, President AFWWA reviewed various welfare activities undertaken for the welfare of Sanginis and their families in Eastern Air Command.
Bhadauria also interacted with the Sanginis and wives of Defence Service Corps personnel during a specially organized meeting.
