Oppn leaders should also visit Ayodhya as it is a national responsibility: Sanjay Raut
Ayodhya, Mar 7(UNI) Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday called upon Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi to visit Ayodhya and pay obeisance to Ram Lalla.
The statement comes in the wake of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thakre visiting the Ramjanmabhoomi along with his family to worship at the Ram Lalla temple to mark the completion of 100 days of his government.
Addressing the media this morning before the visit of the Shiv Sena chief, Mr Raut said that the 'darshan' and construction of a grand Ram temple is not a religious or political issue but a national responsibility.
On whether he would ask the Opposition leaders as well to visit Ayodhya, Mr Raut said, "Leaders should rise above their political differences and unite for the construction of the Ram temple. People should remember that Ram Lalla is for everyone."
To a poser, if the coalition government in Maharashtra will continue, he claimed that such a system would make the government run for next 15 years.
He also ruled out any Opposition from the saints or sadhus on the visit of Tharke to Ayodhya.
The Thakre family is slated to reach Ayodhya at around 1400 hrs and worship at the Ram Lalla temple at around 1630 hrs. The Maharashtra CM is being accompanied by around 20 MPs, several ministers and legislators.
However, Mr Thakre will not attend the Saryu aarti or attend any public rally due to the Corona threat and will return to Mumbai by the evening.
Meanwhile, a special train loaded with Shiv Sainiks also reached here on Friday evening from Mumbai.
