Madhya Pradesh political crisis: Jyotiraditya Scindia moves 17 Congress MLAs to Bengaluru, says report

New Delhi/IBNS: The Madhya Pradesh political crisis deepened on Monday when Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia moved six ministers and 11 MLAs of the party to Bengaluru in a special chartered flight, said a Times Now report.

Times Now said it has learned the names of the Congress leaders flown to Karnataka capital by Scindia.

The MLAs who were moved are Rajvardhan Singh, Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Bankim Silawat, Giriraj, Ms Raksha, Jaswant Jatav, Suresh Dhakad, Jaipal Singh, Brijendra Yadav and Purushottam Parashar, a close aide of Jyotiraditya Scindia, Times Now said.

The MLAs were escorted to their respective destinations by Karnataka Police, the report added.

Notably, Karnataka is a BJP ruled state.

However, Congress has rubbished the news and described it opposition's attempt to spread rumours, the news organisation said. The party said it has full majority in Madhya Pradesh assembly and it is in touch with all its legislators. Only two MLAs are missing and Congress has been told they are in Bengaluru, the report added.

Congress has 114 MLAs out of 230 in Madhya Pradesh assembly. The BJP has 106 MLAs while SP and BSP have two and four MLAs respectively.

Ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections on March 26, the Congress accused the BJP of poaching four of its MLA. While two MLAs, reportedly, returned, the other two are still missing, reports said.
