New Delhi/IBNS: After the pleas of the convicts of Nirbhaya, who had succumbed to a brutal gangrape by several men in a bus in Dec 2012, were rejected by the Delhi High Court, their lawyers have moved to the Supreme Court seeking stay on hanging, a few hours before their hanging today. The parents of Nirbhaya have reached the Supreme Court and a hearing is likely to begin  at 2:30, said reports.

All four convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya rape and murder case are to be hanged at 5:30 am on Friday, a Delhi court earlier in the day said, citing that the convicts had no legal remedies left.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court heard a petition to stall the hanging of the convicts.

The petition was filed by Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma in an attempt to get a last-minute reprieve from their execution on Friday.
