Maldives pledges USD 200,000 to SAARC Coronavirus Emergency Fund, Modi appreciates
Make/IBNS: Maldives government has pledged USD 200,000 contribution to the SAARC Corona Emergency Fund which was proposed by Indian PM Narendra Modi last Sunday during a meeting of leaders belonging to the region to combat Coronavirus.
Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid announced the contribution the Island Nation will make and tweeted, "We welcome PM @narendramodi’s initiative to create an COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund and its pledge of USD 10million. Government of Maldives joins the initiative and pledge USD 200,000 to address issues emanating from COVID-19."

Indian PM Narendra Modi appreciated Maldives government for their move.
"Deeply appreciate contribution of USD 200,000 by Government of Maldives to the COVID-19 Emergency Fund. It strengthens our resolve in this collective fight against the pandemic. @ibusolih," he said.

COVID 19, which is believed to have first started from China's Wuhan region, has now touched many parts of the world.
