21 Congress MLAs who resigned recently join BJP

New Delhi/IBNS: All the 21 MLAs of Madhya Pradesh, who has resigned the Congress, formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday.

They joined the BJP in the presence of BJP MP JP Nadda.

"21 Congress MLAs from Madhya Pradesh met BJP National President Shri @JPNadda  and reposed their faith in the party’s vision and leadership," BJP tweeted.

The MLAs left the Congress after Jyotiraditya Scindia left the party to join BJP.

Ahead of the floor test which was directed by the Supreme Court, MP CM Kamal Nath resigned on Friday ending a political crisis in the state.

In the present scenario where the strength of the house got reduced to 206, the majority is 104.

As the Congress and its allies have got reduced to just 99, the BJP, which has 106 MLAs, is set to return to government 15 months after suffering a defeat in the assembly elections in Dec 2018.

With the BJP returning to power, it is most likely three-term Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan will once again assume the topmost post.
