COVID-19: Delhi govt identifies more than 20,000 homes for home quarantine, says LG Baijal
New Delhi/UNI: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday informed that more than 20,000 homes have been identified by the Delhi Government for home quarantine as part of the steps being taken to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Baijal held a video conference meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev, Police Commissioner and other officials and discussed about steps being taken in Delhi to contain spread of Coronavirus.
''Had the daily video conference meeting with Chief Minister, Delhi @ArvindKejriwal, CS Delhi, CP & other officers. Ensuring social distancing is topmost priority at the moment. There have been reports about violations of social distancing norms at some food distribution centres,'' Baijal said in a tweet.
The Delhi Lieutenant Governor said it has been decided to increase the number of food distribution centres from present 500 to 2500 so that social distancing is adhered to effectively.
''Home quarantine has to be strictly monitored. More than 20,000 homes have been identified by GNCTD for home quarantine,'' Baijal said in a tweet.
''My advice to administration & police is to keep very strict watch on social distancing & home quarantine. Take deterrent actions for any violation & widely publicise. Separately, action to ramp up medical facilities to be expedited,'' he said in another tweet.
