Kolkata/IBNS: Flouting social distancing norms, long queues were spotted outside liquor shops across the Indian states as the government has opened the stores from Monday as one of the relaxations amid the anti-Covid-19 lockdown.

The government has opened the liquor shops in green, orange, and red zones (barring the containment zones).

The shops will remain open between 10 am and 7 pm.

Ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi locked down 1.3 billion people, all liquor and tobacco shops have remained closed.

However, malls, pubs, restaurants are still shut in the entire country.

India is going through a major, unprecedented, massive lockdown since Mar 24 midnight.

Though the lockdown was scheduled to expire on May 4, the same has been extended by two more weeks to stem the spread of Coronavirus.
