Uttar Pradesh: Youth burnt alive in Pratapgarh

Pratapgarh/UNI: A youth was burnt alive over personal enmity in the Fatanpur area of this Uttar Pradesh district, police sources said on Tuesday.

According to sources, some people caught Ambika Prasad Patel (22), a resident of Bhujeni village in the Fatanpur area, and tied him to a tree after which they burnt him alive on Monday night.

The enraged family members and locals set two police vehicles afire while some policemen were also injured.

A case pertaining to eve-teasing and making obscene photos of one Harishankar Patel's daughter viral on social media had been registered against Ambika Patel and he had been sent to jail in this matter. He was released on bail on April 1.

Owing to the personal enmity, Harishankar, Shubham, Ram Milan and some other people tied Ambika to a tree and set him ablaze which led to his death. Police and PAC have been deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.

A case identifying Harishankar Patel, Shubham Patel and Ram Milan while several other unidentified persons has been registered in the matter. Harishankar and Shubham have been arrested by the police.
