COVID-19: West Bengal reports highest single-day spike of 476 cases, tally crosses 10,000-mark

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal on Friday recorded its biggest spike of Covid-19 cases with 476 new infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 10244, including 5587 active cases, 451 deaths and 4206 discharges.

According to a bulletin issued by the state health department, nine deaths and 218 discharges were reported in the last 24 hours.

Recovery rate in West Bengal has mounted to 41.05 per cent, the bulletin read.

The state health department said that Bengal had tested 3,15,699 samples till date with 8758 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 17036 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 1,57,289 people are under home surveillance in the state, reports said.
