Assam Rifles nabs three NSCN (K-YA) militants with arms-ammunition in Nagaland

Guwahati/IBNS: The troops of Assam Rifles busted an extortion module of Naga banned outfit NSCN (K-Yung Aung) and apprehended three hardcore militants of the group along with huge cache of arms and ammunition in Nagaland.

Based on specific intelligence input about presence of some NSCN (K-Yung Aung) group, troops of Assam Rifles and Nagaland police launched operation at Old Showba, Nikheku and Thilixu village areas near Dimapur and apprehended three militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as Hoto Swu, Huto and Leacy Rolem.

Security personnel recovered one HK assault rifle with magazine, one point 22 mm rifle, one SB rifle, one hand grenade, two pistols, assorted ammunition, extortion slips and other warlike stores in possession from them.

The apprehended militants along with recovered items were handed over to Diphupar police station for further investigation.

Several factions of Naga outfit NSCN are active in Nagaland and some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam.

Recently, security forces apprehended few militants of NSCN (K), NSCN (R) with a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Arunachal Pradesh.
