Coronavirus: Maharashtra's Aurangabad may impose total lockdown
Aurangabad/UNI: Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrekar has said that the district administration would take a decision to impose total lockdown in Aurangabad city after holding a meeting with the people's representatives on Monday as the Coronavirus cases continue to increase.
Kendrekar, in a press conference on Friday, told the media that the administration was working hard to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
'Along with other districts in Marathwada, I am paying close attention to Aurangabad city, Waluj area and all the systems are working efficiently. Citizens should not be intimidated by this epidemic and should strictly follow the instructions of the government', he said.
'Although corona disease is serious, citizens should seek immediate medical advice as soon as symptoms appear', he further said.
He appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration and come forward to stop the spread of Coronavirus through self-discipline.
District Collector Uday Chaudhari, Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, Commissioner of Police Chiranjeev Prasad, Government Medical College and Hospital Dean Kanan Yelikar, District Civil Surgeon Sundar Kulkarni, Upper Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Phad, MHADA Chief Annasaheb Shinde, Deputy Commissioner Varsha Thakur, Deputy Collector Rita Maitrewar, Deputy Collector Sarita Sutrave, Head of Department of Pharmacology Meenakshi Bhattacharya and others were present in the conference.
Night curfew has already been imposed in the city from 7 pm to 5 am since Friday.
