'Why PM so scared?' Rahul attacks Modi after BJP blocks Parliamentary Panel Review of PM Cares Fund
New Delhi/IBNS: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) blocked the Parliamentary Panel Review of PM Cares Fund which was created to receive donations to combat Covid-19 pandemic.
"Why is PM so scared of disclosing the names of those who donated money to him for PMCares? Everyone knows Chinese companies Huawei, Xiaomi, TikTok and OnePlus gave money. Why doesn’t he share the details?" Rahul tweeted.

Rahul's comment came in the backdrop of the government's decision to ban 59 Chinese applications including the very popular TikTok in the wake of the deadly clash between the Indian and Chinese soldiers at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Jun 15 night.
Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who also happens to be the Congress' Lok Sabha leader, had reportedly proposed to examine the government's response to the Covid-19 or the PM Cares Fund that was set up.
According to an NDTV report, members of the BJP came in full strength to stall Adhir's proposal for the examination.
Earlier PM Cares Fund was hit with controversy after the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) had stated the fund was not a "public authority" under Right To Information (RTI) Act.
In reply to at least two RTI applications, the Prime Minister's Office had stated the fund was not a public authority under Section 2 (h) of the RTI Act.
Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi was one of the first politicians to object to the fund and had also asked the central government to merge it with the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
