Bangladeshi-origin arms dealer Moosa bin Shamsher cannot go abroad due to ISI's threat
Dhaka/UNI: Multi-billionaire Bangladeshi-origin arms dealer Moosa bin Shamsher, once one of the 10 top richest men in the world, has been warned not to travel to middle-east saying that diplomatic cooperation between Bangladesh and Middle Eastern countries is not satisfactory at the moment, authorities said on Thursday.
Bangladeshi-born Dr Moosa bin Shamsher is the richest man in Asia after the death of notorious arms dealer Adnan Khashogi, according to print edition of Pakistani Dawn newspaper.
Around 82 billion US dollars belonging to Dr Moosa remain deposited with Swiss Bank and he is on the top of rich people in Asia. He had regular contacts with heads of the governments of Middle Eastern countries, according to the newspaper.
Citing Pakistan’s spy agency, the newspaper said, Bangladesh government needs support of Dr Moosa for improving the relations with those countries. But Pakistan does not like it, hence, Dr Moosa has become the eyesore for the Pakistani spy agency.
Pakistan’s relation with Brunei has been strained due to Moosa’s good relations with Brunei, the media said.
A reliable source told this correspondent that Israel thinks that its spy agency, Mossad, has a share in the money Dr Moosa deposited with the Swiss Bank, because Mossad had provided assistance to Moosa for his arms business. Hence, Moosa’s relations with Israel is not good at the moment.
Besides, Mossad thinks that Moosa’s team saved Sheikh Hasina during August 21, 2004 grenade attack. Mossad does not think much of Dr Moosa’s good relations with the Hasina government.
The source said, Dr Moosa cannot go outside the country due to threat posed by Mossad and ISI. He may come under attack by the two spy agencies any time.
Hence, he filed several GDs and FIR with local police station in Bangladesh.
Dr Moosa told this correspondent that US President Donald Trump appreciated him for his formula aimed at saving people around the globe from corona pandemic. NASA is going ahead with Moosa’s formula.
Dr Moosa told this correspondent that he along with his team is working sincerely for sustaining the Hasina government.
He, however, regretted that his initiative has not still been evaluated by the government.
