Congress suspends MLAs Bhanwar Lal Sharma, Vishvendra Singh for 'anti-party activities'
New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Friday suspended its rebel Rajasthan MLAs Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishvendra Singh for "anti-party activities".
The suspension came after audio tapes pertaining to discussions by the two MLAs on toppling the state government in Rajasthan went viral on social media. .
In a statement, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal said, "In view of tapes released in section of media, Mr Bhanwar Lal Sharma (MLA Sardarshahar) and Mr Vishvendra Singh (MLA Deeg Kumher) have been suspended from the party with immediate effect for anti party activities."
"Show cause notice has been issued to them to explain their conduct in the conspiracy to topple the Congress government in Rajasthan," Venugopal said.
The audio tapes pertained to discussions on toppling the state government in Rajasthan.
The conversations in the tapes, which have gone viral on social media, are said to be about various measures to be taken to overthrow the Congress government in Rajasthan.
Reports said that the audio clips feature recorded conversation between MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Union minister and Rajasthan BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
