According to the reports, cattle smugglers from the Indian side have supplied cattle to Bangladesh by using several techniques to cross the Brahmaputra river.

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have seized over 150 cattle heads and apprehended few cattle smugglers in Assam’s South Salmara and Dhubri district in last three days.

Acting on a tip-off, the troops of BSF and South Salmara police had seized 41 cattle heads from Muthakhowa and Mathkhola village area under South Salmara police station on Saturday night while cattle smuggling gangs were trying to smuggle the cattle heads to Bangladesh.
