ED summons Ashok Gehlot's brother in fertiliser export scam case
Jaipur/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday summoned Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's brother Agrasain Gehlot and asked him to join investigation in an alleged money laundering case linked to the fertiliser export scam that took place between 2007 and 2009.
He has been summoned for questioning on Wednesday.
On July 22, the probe agency had searched his properties in connection with the case.
The raids come at a time when Ashok Gehlot's government in Rajasthan is facing a crisis following a rebellion by former deputy CM Sachin Pilot and his 18 loyalists.
In a big setback for Gehlot, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra had earlier rejected one proposal from the Chief Minister to convene the assembly session.
He sent back a second proposal to start assembly on July 31, suggesting a three-week postponement, giving MLAs a time window to attend.
Mishra earlier agreed to call an assembly session provided the government gives a 21-day notice.
