US expresses grief over loss of lives in Kerala plane crash
New Delhi/Washington/Kozhikode/IBNS: The United States on Saturday condoled the loss of lives in a plane accident in Kerala's Kozhikode airport on Friday evening.
US Ambassador to India Kenneth I. Juster tweeted: "On behalf of the U.S. Mission, we are deeply saddened by the news of the Air India accident in Kozhikode. The victims and their loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers."

Bhutan Foreign Minister Tandi Dorji said: "Deepest condoloences for the Air India Express crash in Kozhikode, Kerala. We are deeply pained to hear the news and my prayers goes out for those passengers and crew who lost their lives and speedy recovery to those who are injured."

Japanese Ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki tweeted: "My heart bleeds for the air accident of #AirIndiaExpress in Kozhikode and landslide in #Idukki. My thoughts are with those who lost their beloved ones and are injured. I hope search & rescue will conclude as quickly as possible."

The death toll due to the Air India Express aircraft in Kerala's Karipur airport on Friday touched 18, media reports said.

The Air India Express aircraft with 191 people on board snapped into two while landing amid heavy rainfall in Kerala's Kozhikode.
The Air India Express Flight IX 1344 from Dubai to Kozhikode in Kerala overshot the runway after skidding off while landing at around 7-40 pm.
The mishap has left over 100 people hurt.
