Law and order dying in Uttar Pradesh: Mayawati

Lucknow/UNI: Raising questions on the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati asked as to what was the difference between the former Samajwadi Party (SP) and the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments as far as crime control and law and order was concerned.

In a tweet on Thursday, she said, "The law and order system is dying in UP now. The allegations and scuffle between the local BJP MLA in Aligarh and the police yesterday is extremely serious and worrying. This case should be properly investigated and strict action should be taken against those who are guilty, this is the BSP's demand."

In another tweet, the BSP supremo said, "At the same time, it is clear from such frequent 'jungle-raj' incidents as to what is the difference between the SP and the BJP governments especially in the matter of crime control and the law and order situation? The government should pay proper attention to this, it is the BSP's advice in the public interest."

Further, she added, "Due to lack of proper facilities in UP, the situation is worsening from the government pressure/intimidation on the doctors risking their lives to serve the coronavirus patients, due to which 32 health centre in-charges have given resignation in Varanasi. It would be better if the government takes service from them without discrimination and giving them complete facilities."

In another tweet, she stated, "Also, the condition of corona health workers at corona centres and private hospitals is also very bad, due to which they are forced to attempt suicide, which is extremely sad. It is the BSP's demand that the government formulate a practical policy and give them proper resources and implement the same."
