Delhi water-logged due to heavy rain yet again, traffic crawls
New Delhi/IUNI: The continuous down-pour has yet again left Delhi in a water-logged state of affairs across its several areas as the Wednesday morning traffic was brought down to a snail's pace.
There was water logging yet again due to rain which affected the traffic movement almost all across the city, including North, East, West and South Delhi and central areas majorly affected by water logging, potholes and other related reasons.
Office goers said that this is nothing new as it has become a regular feature in the capital as whenever it rains, water logging follows, there less respite and more trouble due to the same , a man added, who was almost drenched and took refuge under a foot-over bridge near ring road towards south Delhi.
'Water logging reported at following location BRT near Central school (both carriageway), Badarpur to Ashram, Under Sarita VIhar Flyover, Dhaula Kuan towards AIIMS carriageway under Moti Bagh Flyover, MB Road near Batra Hospital (both carriageway)Under Palam Flyover (both carriageway) chhata Rail (both carriageway 1) Mother Dairy Underpass (both carriageway)Mayur Vihar Ph-2 Underpass (both carriageway) Sarai Kale Khan to DND, Sashi Garden to Kotla , Seemapuri to Dilshad Garden Underpass and MB Road at Maidan Garhi' ,Delhi Traffic Police twitter handle said.
'Obstruction in traffic from Dhaula Kuan towards Punjabi Bagh due to breakdown of an MMV. Kindly avoid the stretch,Traffic is affected at Pul Prahladpur underpass due to water logging.Traffic is heavy in the carriageway from Liberty Cinema towards Punjabi Bagh due to potholes in road. Kindly avoid the stretch,' Traffic police added.
'Traffic is heavy in the carriageway from Lajwanti flyover towards Dhaula Kuan due to breakdown of a cluster bus near Lajwanti flyover. Motorists heading towards Dhaula Kuan are requested to take Mayapuri Chowk as an alternative route, ' another tweet by the traffic police informed here this morning.
According to the weatherman, moderate rain is likely during the day while skies will remain generally cloudy throughout.
Relative humidity in the morning pegged at 100 percent at 8:30 am, while the minimum temperature recorded on Wednesday morning was 26.4 degrees C.
