India celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi amid Covid-19
New Delhi/IBNS: India, a multicultural country of 1.3 billion people, is celebrating the festival to worship Lord Ganesha amid the Covid-19 pandemic on Saturday.
On this day, the devotees install the idol of Lord Ganesha at their homes or any other places and continue to worship him for the next 10 days.
After 10 days, the devotees immerse the idols in the water bodies.

Following the Covid-19 protocols, India is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi on a day the country has reported the biggest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases by registering over 69,000 infections in the last 24 hours.
The country of 1.3 billion people has reported 69,878 Covid cases in 24 hours between Friday and Saturday mornings, taking the overall tally to 29,75,701.
With 945 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the Covid toll in India now stands at 55,794.
