CBI interrogates Rhea Chakraborty in Sushant Singh Rajput's case
New Delhi/IBNS: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is the prime accused in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, is being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for over nine hours now.
This comes a day after the 28-year-old actress, who was Sushant's girlfriend, broke her silence on Thursday and gave twin interviews to electronics media claiming she was innocent.
According to media reports, Rhea's statement is recorded by Nupur Prasad, the officer leading the CBI team.
Her brother Showik is also being grilled by the central probe agency.
They both are being questioned separately and will be checked for inconsistencies in their versions, said media reports.
In the interviews, Rhea had said that her family is being destroyed and urged for a free trial.
In an interview with India Today, Rhea, who is in the eye of the storm, said she had also thought of committing suicide due to the alleged "witch-hunt" in the whole death case where she was getting defamed.
As per media reports, the CBI is primarily grilling her to know why she left Sushant on June 8 and whether she communicated with him between June 9th and 14th.
She is also supposed to be asked on the details of Sushant's medical treatment for depression.
Sushant, who was born in Bihar, had committed suicide at his own flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.
Though the Mumbai Police initially stated it to be a suicide case, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with Bihar Police alleging that Rhea had siphoned off Rs 15 crore from his son's account and other accounts of companies floated with his investments.
As per the recommendation by the Bihar government, the death case was handed over to the CBI by the central government.
The CBI began its probe last week by questioning the Bollywood star's staff member and meeting the Mumbai cops.
