Srinagar/UNI: Five civilians were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a security force vehicle in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Monday.

Official sources said that militants lobbed a grenade at a security force vehicle at Azad Gung in Baramulla on Monday afternoon.

"But, the grenade missed the target and exploded at a distance, resulting in injuries to five civilians, including two women," they said.

They said the injured were immediately taken to a local hospital from where two of them were referred to a hospital in Srinagar in critical condition.

"The militants managed to escape from the spot during the chaos created due to the blast," they said, adding reinforcement has been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
