Congratulations India, you have arrested my son: Rhea Chakraborty's father on Showik's arrest
Mumbai/IBNS: Actress Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty on Saturday issued a statement condemning the arrest of his son Showik by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the drug allegations surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
In the statement available with media, he said: "Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I'm sure next on the line is my daughter and I don't know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle class family. But of course, for the sake of justice everything is justified. Jai hind."
Lt Col Indrajit Chakraborty (Retd) has also been questioned by the CBI for days after Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.
Showik and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda were arrested by the NCB under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and remanded to NCB till Sept 9.
The NCB also arrested Dipesh Sawant, the house helper of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty, who was Sushant's girlfriend, has been asked to appear before the NCB on Sunday in connection with the drug probe.
NCB is the third Central agency to join the probe into the death of Sushant, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The NCB got into action after the Enforcement Directorate came across chats pertaining to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
