West Bengal: BJP women's wing worker shot at, TMC accused
Kolkata/IBNS: A worker of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s women's wing was shot at in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Monday.
Radharani Naskar, the saffron leader from Bishnupur, is in serious condition at a hospital here.
The BJP has already traded charges at the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing the ruling party of being involved in the attack.
Reacting to the incident, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said, "Everyday BJP workers are getting attacked or killed in different parts of the state due to political violence.
"Police are not reacting to any such incident. The state government has accepted violence as their policy. An atmosphere of fear has been created due to these repeated incidents."
BJP women's wing president Agnimitra Paul, who had visited the city hospital where Naskar is admitted, trained her guns at the administration saying, "This is the situation in West Bengal where 15-20 people with arms are coming in broad daylight and shooting people. No one has any fear of law!"
