New Delhi, Dec 8 (IBNS): The Uber cab driver, who was arrested for raping a 25-year-old woman passenger in the national capital, has been sent to a three-day police custody for interrogation by a Delhi court.

The accused, identified as Shiv Kumar Yadav, was produced in court on Monday.

The court has sent him to a three-day police custody for interrogation and recovery of a mobile phone.

Police want him to undergo Test Identification Parade (TIP), reports said.

He, however, has refused to take the test stating that his photograph was in the company records.

He was also manhandled in the court premise by lawyers and some unidentified people while he was being escorted by the police.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government on Monday banned all operations by private cab service following the incident.

The Uber cab driver was earlier too jailed in a rape case and apparently he was appointed without verification of his antecedents by the company.

The 32-year-old was lodged in Tihar jail for seven months for a case of sexual assault in 2011.

Police are investigating how the offender could make to the company Uber and appointed as a driver.

The police on Sunday arrested from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh the accused cab driver.
