Minor girl gangraped by three in Madhya Pradesh a day after Hathras victim dies
Khargone (MP)/IBNS: A minor girl was kidnapped from her house and gangraped by three men in a field in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district, police said on Wednesday amid nationwide outrage over the savage gangrape and death of a 19-year-girl in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras.
The Madhya Pradesh victim's brother said three men allegedly came to their house in Marugarh on Tuesday night and asked for water.
An altercation broke out and the accused pushed the girl's brother.
The accused then took away the girl with them, police told reporters on Wednesday.
The minor was allegedly gangraped in a field where the accused left her and fled.
The victim's brother, who had gathered people for help, tried to chase the accused, the police added.
An investigation has been initiated in the case following an FIR by the family.
Hathras fatal gangrape:
This comes as the entire country is left shocked over the heinous gangrape and death of the Hathras victim.
The victim died at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday two weeks after she was gangraped by four men in her village.
The girl was left paralysed with a spinal cord injury by the accused while her tongue was found cut.
The incident has sparked outrage with people demanding justice for the girl while politicians have targeted UP CM Yogi Adityanath for the alleged deteriorating law and order situation in his state.
Amid the widespread outrage, Adityanath on Wednesday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the heinous crime and also ordered a trial against the accused in a fast-track court.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) India has also taken suo motu cognizance of the matter.
The Commission has directed to the state government. to provide adequate protection to the family of the deceased keeping in view the gravity of the matter and aspect of the witness protection as there is "apparent rift between two communities and there may be danger to the family of the deceased."
